Brookfield, WI — The local public accounting and business advisory firm of Vrakas/Blum, S.C. is pleased to announce that James Broughton, CPA and Scott Syrjala, CPA, have been promoted to manager within the tax department, effect July 1, 2013.

James will focus his responsibilities on tax planning and compliance for closely-held businesses. He has extensive experience working with corporate entities, including consolidated corporations, multi-state and multi-national corporations and has a concentration of clients in the manufacturing, professional services, real estate and construction industries.
Scott’s primary focus will be providing tax planning, compliance and research support for clients in the manufacturing, service, construction and retail industries. In addition, he is co-manager of the firms’ personal property tax group and assists with the development and training of department staff. Scott resides in East Troy with his wife, Robin.
