Vrakas CPAs + Advisors recently announced the promotions of Sara M. Johnson, CPA, and Brian M. Kaker, CPA, to Manager.

Johnson, a former senior accountant, has been promoted to manager in the firm’s assurance and accounting department. Johnson joined the firm in 2010, after previously serving as an intern in 2009. In her role, she provides accounting and assurance services for closely-held businesses in the manufacturing, service and construction industries. She also oversees staff in the firm’s audit department. Johnson graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2010, with a Master’s in Professional Accountancy. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA) and is a resident of Milwaukee.
Kaker joined the Vrakas team in 2010 and previously served as a senior accountant. In his new role as manager, he oversees staff in the firm’s tax department and is responsible for maintaining working relationships with current clients. Kaker’s responsibilities include reviewing complex corporate, partnership and individual tax returns and staying up-to-date on changing tax regulations. He primarily works with clients in the real estate, construction and manufacturing industries. Kaker is also actively involved in the firm’s estate and gift tax committee. He earned a Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2010 and his Bachelor’s degree in 2009. Kaker’s memberships include the AICPA and WICPA. He is a resident of Shorewood, Wisconsin.
