Audit Internship: Summer 2026

The Vrakas CPAs + Advisors team is looking for a Summer 2026 Audit Intern to bring their unique spark to our talented crew based in our Kenosha office.

The Vrakas CPAs + Advisors summer internship program introduces all interns to audit responsibilities. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects within multiple industries and learn more about the day-to-day responsibilities in our audit department. As part of creating that environment, each intern is assigned a peer mentor who will help tailor and personalize the internship experience to each intern’s specific needs and goals.

The following responsibilities, opportunities, and requirements for this position are as follows: 

Responsibilities:

A summer internship at Vrakas consists of multiple audit responsibilities within the firm. Employee benefit plan (EBP) audits contain a range of work for summer interns, who are given the same responsibility as first-year associates. Planning, earnings tests, direct client communication, and on-site fieldwork are just a few of the many tasks summer interns will take part in while working in teams within a diverse client base.

While the summer intern workload primarily focuses on assistance within the audit department, interns will receive consistent communication from all departments as they navigate different tasks. At Vrakas, summer audit interns will have the opportunity to learn and acquire skills in:

  • Professional communication (internal and external)
  • Managing multiple clients with established timelines
  • Gathering audit documentation and completing the audit engagement file
  • Timely completion of assigned audit engagements
  • Establish and maintain effective client relationships through regular communications
  • Numerous opportunities to work directly with partners, managers, and other members of the Vrakas team
  • Work in an environment structured around providing personalized learning opportunities for all team members so that everyone can have a positive, beneficial experience

Position Details:

  • Paid, in-person internship
  • Location(s): opportunities in Kenosha, WI
  • 40 hours per week, with the opportunity to work additional hours if desired
  • Audit Responsibilities: Employee Benefit Plans, 401(k)s
  • Start Date: June 2026
  • End Date: August 2026
  • Schedule and start time will be dependent on academic schedules

Requirements

  • Enrolled as a student, working towards your bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Pursuing credit eligibility to sit for the CPA exam, per state requirements
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office products
  • Efficient coursework that provides general knowledge of accounting principles and/or regulations
  • Willingness to learn new skills and programs
  • Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for doing impactful work, professionalism, integrity, and dependability
  • Authorized to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship
