Sara Johnson, CPA

Sara is a shareholder in Vrakas’ Audit Department and leads the firm’s Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) practice. She has extensive experience overseeing EBP audits for a wide range of plan types and sizes, ensuring compliance and delivering value-added insights to plan sponsors. Sara is passionate about the EBP practice area and takes a hands-on approach to assisting clients when questions arise or corrections are needed. She also works to streamline the audit process while meeting deadlines and ensuring plans are operating in compliance. The firm’s EBP practice continues to grow through a strong commitment to quality and client service.

In addition to her EBP expertise, Sara provides audit and assurance services for privately held manufacturing, service, and construction companies. Known for her collaborative and practical approach, she works closely with clients to understand their goals and deliver effective, timely solutions. She is also actively involved in developing and supporting audit staff through training and mentorship.

Sara earned her Master of Professional Accountancy degree from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater and began her career with Vrakas in 2010, following a prior year of internship with the firm. She credits her success to a strong work ethic and the guidance of her colleagues and mentors.

Based in Milwaukee, Sara enjoys traveling, meeting new people, and spending time with family and friends.
