Vrakas was a proud sponsor of The Women’s Center Futures Free From Violence Team Trivia Night last week.
The event included delicious appetizers, a wine-beer-coffee pull, a raffle with awesome prizes, trivia and more! As part of being a sponsor, Vrakas fielded a team of eight employees to participate in the event. Vrakas’ team, the Tax-Manian Devils, didn’t take home the win, but Vrakas’ Michelle Pollack won a raffle prize.
Vrakas chose to sponsor this event because not only is it an important cause, but October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to commemorate lives lost, honor survivors, and recommit ourselves to the crucial work of breaking the cycle of violence. The Women’s Center offers free and comprehensive services including domestic violence, sexual assault, and abuse counseling, an emergency domestic violence shelter, a 24-hour hotline, free on-site child care, legal advocacy, transitional living, and life skills programming that includes employment, parenting and grandparents support groups, educational forums and advocacy.
