Accounting Update Seminar

Vrakas CPAs + Advisors is holding a seminar on the new revenue standards on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.

The FASB’s new revenue recognition model will become effective in January 2019 for private companies. This new revenue standard is expected to affect the revenue recognition practices of most companies. With the requirements quickly approaching, it is time to begin planning for implementation of the new standard.

Stacey Painter, CFO/COO of North American Filtration, Inc., presents Accounting Standards Update (ASU) No. 2014-09 Revenue from Contracts with Customers, as amended, from the perspective of company management preparing the financial information necessary to comply with the new ASU as it relates to small and mid-size businesses.

Participants will be able to:

  • Recognize how the new revenue guidance differs from legacy revenue guidance
  • Identify and describe the five steps involved in applying the new revenue recognition model
  • Identify the transition requirements to be applied upon the effective date of ASU 2014-09, as amended
