This past Saturday boats gathered on Random Lake for the 14th annual Casting for HOPE Muskie tournament, hosted by Brad Weckwerth, Managing Shareholder at Vrakas CPAs along with his friend, Erik Miller.
Covid can’t kill everything. This year’s event included 21 participating boats and raised nearly $5,000! All donations will go directly to Camp HOPE – a camp located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin where children and teenagers gather to work through the grieving process after losing a loved one.
15 muskies, all 34 inches or greater, were measured and registered during tournament hours (8:00 to 4:00) with the winning boat registering 3 muskies (43.5”, 39” and 36”).
The champions, Jacob Nast and Nicholas Cole, walked away with a $500 purse and the biggest fish winner (45”), Jeff Fullerton, walked away with a $250 purse.
Casting for HOPE is always looking for more fisherman… if you are interested in participating next year, check us out at castingforhope.com. Tight lines!
