Michael Carney, CPA

Michael Carney joined Vrakas in 2023 with over 20 years of experience in public accounting and corporate leadership that focuses on serving clients across multiple industries.

After founding MWC Accounting Company in 2009, Michael focused his practice on providing client accounting and advisory services, including financial statement creation, client analysis, and tax return preparation. He aimed to ensure his clients received the information and care they deserved to operate their businesses successfully.

At Vrakas, Michael continues to specialize in client accounting and advisory services and tax compliance for privately held, for-profit companies across various industries. Michael operates out of Chicago and works alongside Shareholder Andy Kamphuis. As Managing Director, Michael is responsible for growing Vrakas’ Midwest client base while developing and growing a team of professionals dedicated to next-level client service.

Mike resides in Chicago with his wife and family. Outside work, he enjoys golf, running, and spending time with his extended family in Wisconsin.
