Mary Ellen Michaelson
Mary Ellen has been with the firm since 1999 having spent 21 years in the tax department before joining our shareholder group. The past few years, Mary Ellen has been an important part of the Small Business Accounting department, taking an active role in developing and growing the practice.
As a shareholder, Mary Ellen leads the Small Business Accounting department leveraging her payroll knowledge and QuickBooks experience. In addition, Mary Ellen continues to provide consulting and tax services utilizing her expertise in privately-held businesses, not-for-profits, and real estate partnerships.
Prior to joining Vrakas as a professional, Mary Ellen served as an intern for the firm in 1998. Her experience throughout the years has helped her prepare for her current role by learning the needs and goals of the firm’s clients, resulting in increased savings for her clients.
Mary Ellen was inspired to pursue a career in accounting due to her general interest in numbers. During high school, she had the opportunity to study abroad as a foreign exchange student, which further assisted in her personal development. Mary Ellen attributes her professional success to her hard work, dedication, and focus to find the best possible solutions for her clients in a timely manner based on their specific situation and goals. She also credits the endless support of her husband and the extraordinary work environment at Vrakas.
Mary Ellen was raised in a small Central Wisconsin town and currently resides in the Village of Merton. She and her husband have two children. In her free time, Mary Ellen loves spending time with her family, reading, and enjoying time outdoors.
