Racine County Adopts 0.5% County Tax

Beginning April 1, 2025, Racine County imposes a 0.5% county sales and use tax.

Sellers registered to collect Wisconsin sales and use tax must collect and remit Racine County tax on taxable sales made to locations in Racine County, regardless of whether the seller is located in Racine County.

Purchasers who store, use, or consume taxable products or services in Racine County and do not pay the seller’s taxes owe 5% state use tax and 0.5% county use tax.Racine County Adopts 0.5% County Tax

Special rules and transitional provisions apply to county sales and use taxes. These provisions are described in Fact Sheet 2414Milwaukee Sales and Use Taxes, and also apply to Racine County tax.
