Timothy C. Itzin
Tim began his career in accounting with Vrakas CPAs + Advisors in 1982 and was admitted to the shareholder group in 1994. In his current role, he serves as head of the firm’s accounting and auditing department. Tim is responsible for managing audit engagements and providing specialized audit, review, and consulting services to the firm’s clients. Through ongoing professional education, specialized industry seminars, and leadership training, he maintains the latest knowledge of accounting and auditing standards and practices.
Throughout his career in the accounting industry, Tim has honed his expertise working with privately-held companies in the manufacturing, construction, distribution, and service industries. He has successfully assisted with numerous business purchase and sale transactions, including due diligence projects. Tim also works with clients to identify weaknesses in costing systems, enabling them to properly identify sources of inefficiency and strengthen profitability.
As a testament to Tim’s reputation for professionalism and quality service, he has been invited to serve as a board member for numerous organizations. He recently completed an 8-year term as a member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Accounting Advisory Board in which he provided curriculum advice to the Department of Accounting Chairman, faculty, and academic staff. Tim also served for many years as a member of the Board of Directors of the Waukesha County Economic Development Corporation and is a former member of the manufacturing committee of CPA Associates International, Inc. In addition, he shares his expertise as a frequent presenter at various industry organization events, including the National Business Institute forum.
Tim currently resides in Waukesha. In his time away from the office, Tim enjoys mountain biking and hiking in various National Parks.
