Mike Thornton, CPA
Principal
Mike joined the tax department with over 15 years of experience in the public accounting industry. His responsibilities include tax consulting, compliance, and planning, as well as reviewing complex corporate, partnership and individual tax returns for privately-held businesses and their shareholders. He works to serve clients in a broad range of industries from manufacturing to a variety of service-related industries.
In addition, Mike continues to stay actively up-to-date on the ever-changing tax laws and regulations. He earned a Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2004 and his Bachelor’s degree in 2003.
Throughout the years, Mike credits his success to the hard work he has put in over the years, as well as striving to improve his knowledge and skill set. He enjoys working to understand how his clients’ businesses operate and using that knowledge to apply for specific tax benefits in every instance he can.
Mike currently resides in Colgate with his wife. Away from the office, he enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking and running, traveling, scuba diving, and always being outdoors when Wisconsin weather cooperates.
